HubSpot billing: pay monthly or annually, and what's negotiable
Last verified September 28, 2026 · Next check October 28, 2026
HubSpot's Professional and Enterprise plans need at least a 12-month commitment. On Professional you then choose how to pay: annually upfront, at about 10% less, or monthly, as HubSpot's pricing pages show. Enterprise has one price. Longer, multi-year terms and further discounts aren't published; they're negotiated deal by deal.
Key numbers
| Plan | Professional, paid annually | Professional, paid monthly | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing Hub | $800/mo | $890/mo | $3,600/mo |
| Content Hub | $450/mo | $500/mo | $1,500/mo |
| Data Hub | $720/mo | $800/mo | $2,000/mo |
| Customer Platform | $1,300/mo | $1,450/mo | $4,700/mo |
| Sales Hub, per seat | $90/mo | $100/mo | $150/mo |
| Service Hub, per seat | $90/mo | $100/mo | $150/mo |
| Extra Core Seat | from $45/mo | from $50/mo | from $75/mo |
US list prices on a 12-month commitment. Starter is $20 per seat with a monthly commitment, or $7 per seat paid annually (a limited-time offer for new customers). HubSpot's free tools cost nothing for up to 2 users.
Commitment and payment are two different things
The commitment is how long you sign for: at least 12 months on Professional and Enterprise, and it can be longer. The payment schedule is how often you're invoiced for it. HubSpot's billing supports monthly, quarterly and yearly payments.
"Pay monthly" on HubSpot's pricing pages doesn't mean a monthly contract. It means paying a 12-month commitment in monthly instalments, at a higher price than paying the year upfront. Enterprise is the exception, with one price, as the hub-by-hub comparison shows.
What paying annually saves
The published gap on Professional is about 10%. Over a year that adds up:
- Marketing Hub Professional: $800/mo paid annually vs $890/mo paid monthly saves $1,080 a year.
- Customer Platform Professional: $1,300/mo vs $1,450/mo saves $1,800 a year.
- 10 Sales Hub Professional seats: $90 vs $100 per seat saves $1,200 a year.
The trade-off is cash flow: you pay 12 months up front. If that's a problem, the next section matters more than the discount.
What's negotiable
Quarterly billing. HubSpot doesn't publish a quarterly price, but its billing system supports quarterly invoices. Asking to keep the annual price and pay quarterly is a common request. Whether you get it depends on the deal.
Multi-year terms. Signing for two or three years can open room for a further discount or a price lock. There's no published rate. The cost is flexibility: every commitment below lasts for the whole term.
Timing. HubSpot's financial year follows the calendar, with quarters closing on 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December. Start the conversation 60 to 90 days before you need to sign, so the deadline doesn't set your terms.
What a longer commitment locks in
Several parts of a HubSpot bill can go up mid-term but only come down at renewal:
- Seats can't drop below your contracted minimum. How seats work →
- Marketing contact tiers upgrade automatically and don't downgrade until renewal. How contacts are billed →
- Credit capacity packs can auto-upgrade after a busy month and stay on your bill for the rest of the term. How credits work →
On a three-year term, a mid-term upgrade stays with you for longer. Size carefully before a long commitment.
Worked example
Marketing Hub Professional plus 5 Sales Hub Professional seats. Paid annually: $1,250/mo, or $15,000 for the year. Paid monthly: $1,390/mo, or $16,680. Paying annually saves $1,680. On this deal, every extra 1% you negotiate is worth about $150 a year. See both options for your own setup in the pricing calculator, and remember onboarding fees on top in year one.
What to ask your HubSpot rep
- What's the price if we pay annually, and what if we pay monthly?
- Can we keep the annual price and pay quarterly?
- What would a two- or three-year term change: price, price lock, or both?
- Are prices locked for the whole term, and what happens to them at renewal?
- Which parts of our bill can go up mid-term, and which can come down at renewal?
